Lou
Tapage (that in Langue d’Oc means the uproar) is a project
that was born in 1999.
Different souls compose Lou Tapage, and they all contribute in
turning the style of the band into a very personal one, so that
a new term has been created to describe the new genre: Nu Folk.
What comes out is a personal and eclectic style, settled but always
on the go, characterized by the presence of a strong but intangible
Leitmotiv represented by the band itself and by its energy.
Lou Tapage’s basic idea is in fact the research, without
compromises or preconceptions, into Music itself and what it may
convey in all its ways.
Subsequently to a period of search linguistics on the actual
derivations of the ancient one Langue d'Oc, we decided to use
for our compositions (what they constitute, close to melodies
riarrangiate, the greatest part of the repertoire) the Catalan,
the Provenzal one and the Occitano, sometimes contaminated,
for euphonic finality, with French, Italian and Spaniards (Castilian)
or fused between them inside the same text.
The band is composed by:
• Paolo Chiotti (drum) of modern formation
• Andrea Costamagna (electric guitar) conservatory bachelor
in guitar, modern formation
• Dario Littera (electric guitar) conservatory bachelor
in guitar, modern jazz formation
• Marco Barbero (bass, bagpipe, flutes) of heterogenous
formation, classic and modern
• Monica Rossi (diatonic accordion), polistrumentista
folk, has played in numerous formations
• Chiara Cesano (violin) of classical formation and folk,
polistrumentista
Lou Tapage played in these years in many lives around Italy.
